Rik Cordero
A native New Yorker, Rik was an introverted child who made his first
foray into guerilla filmmaking with the help of his dad’s
20 lb. VHS camcorder. Shortly after, video became the best way to
express himself. After graduating with a BFA in Computer Graphics
at the
New York Institute of Technology, he went
on to dabble in motion graphics and interactive design at various
production houses in New York City. Though not formally trained,
Rik amassed a collection of various short films and music videos
which would prepare him for a shot at his first independent feature,
“Mend”.
After shooting wrapped, Rik created a light hearted music video
to promote
Mend which won the
Best
Music Video Audience Award at the
28th
Asian International Film Festival in 2005. In 2006
he created
Three/21
Media, a renegade production company that specializes
in projects for artists with limited budgets. He currently resides
in New York City.
